I loved this clip. I so agree with Michael Douglas’ statement that those actors he mentioned gave their best performances in an Oliver Stone film. Oliver Stone is a giant as far as I’m concerned. One of the very best directors of all time! I’ve loved all his movies.
3:33 Kevin Costner was in “JFK” not “LBJ”
There is no way Michael Douglas, Jewish actor, would defame Jewish bankers on Wall Street.
Its almost like you’re expecting him to say something like: “rip their fuckin’ throats out, stuff ‘em in your garbage compactor” or “if this guy owned a funeral parlor, no one would die” … but he wont
maybe you forgot the movie Any Given Sunday that one is a classic in its kind
asian women ARE superior to american women…have you ever dated one? holy shit they are good…good in bed…good in everything…far superior to american women
the original scarface? or the 1 with alpacino
Oliver Stone wrote Scarface so that’s all that needs to be said about him..
Bakeral, envy is a deadly sin. Funny how the internet has become a place where frustrated nobodies insult talented people.
Douglas was an excellent Gekko and Wall Street a landmark film. Oliver Stone is a great casting director… and above all a fabulous helmer and scriptwriter.
Yeah, but that isn’t much of an insult, few dirs can.
It’s Ironic you have this interview with Michael Douglas talking about Wall Street just weeks before he started shooting Wall Street 2.
What do you know about Oliver Stone or shining shoes????
Oliver Stone cannot shine Clint Eastwood’s shoes.
All of this is so old and tired. Oliver Stone has not said anything new in 30 years. It’s the same old retold stories about Vietnam and all the Asian women that are superior to American Women. Surely this will be his last film.
I guess Oliver Stone advise Douglas to go to Cuba to admire a no good dictador of Castro because he is there right now.
LOL!!! Got to get those titles right, Michael; it’s “Salvador” and “JFK.”
Miscast? Oh, sure, Douglas was a terrible Gordon Gekko. And I’m sure he has no idea what he’s talking about here. Clint Eastwood has done a lot of great things, and if he doesn’t like that kind of directing technique, then that’s his choice; however, a whole lot of people do. So excuse me if I don’t agree with you or Eastwood.
It’s true what he says about Oliver getting the best out of his actors, they all gave their career bests working him,
I know, that was pretty funny. I had to play it back to see if I heard it right. I guess the guy didn’t correct him cause he was on such a roll…
I thought it was really weird that he said kevin costner was in LBJ instead of JFK.
Jon Avent is a joke. This guy can’t stop to talk about his own accomplishment enough to appreciate others.
Maybe he should tone down the arrogance until he gets a good movie under hie belt.
LBJ?
Interesting what a director gets out from an actor so as to reveal more and get in touch more with their character.
it is crappy director/producer Jon Avnet. he just can not behave like an adult.
